Introduction

THE TERRRORIST ATTACKS ON AMERICA HAS CHANGED THE WAY WE THINK AND HOW WE LIVE. THE ECONOMIC IMPACT ON THE STOCK MARKET, THE JOB MARKET, AND ON OUR FEDERAL BUDGET HAS AFFECTED OUR GLOBAL ECONOMY. THE GOAL OF THIS RESEARCH PROJECT IS TO DISCOVER OVERALL ECONOMIC IMPACT OF THE TERRORIST ATTACKS ON BOTH THE AMERICAN AND THE GLOBAL ECONOMY.



The Task

Students will research how the terrorist attack on America has had an impact on our economy and the overall global economy. Students will utilize their research findings by (1) creating a research paper and (2)by their use of multimedia tools in creating a powerpoint presentation.

The Process
  1. STUDENTS WILL USE THE LISTED WEBSITES TO BEGIN THEIR RESEARCH ON THE IMPACT OF TERRORISM ON THE ECONOMY.

  2. STUDENTS WILL USE AT LEAST FIVE OTHER SOURCES OTHER THAN THE INTERNET. OPTIONS MAY INCLUDE, NEWSPAPER ARTICLES, NEWS MAGAZINE ARTICLES, TV NEWS PROGRAMS, OR BOOKS.

  3. STUDENT WILL TYPE AN INTRODUCTION PAPER DESCRIBING THEIR RESEARCH PROJECT TOPIC.

  4. STUDENTS WILL TYPE A FIVE PAGE RESEARCH PAPER USING THE SOURCES POSTED ABOVE TO COMPILE THE INFORMATION NEEDED TO COMPLETE BOTH THE PAPER AND PRESENTATION.

  5. STUDENTS WILL TYPE UP A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF THE SOURCES USED TO COMPLETE THEIR PROJECT. BIBLIOGRAPHY SHOULD INCLUDE AT LEAST FIVE SOURCES BESIDES ALL THEIR INTERNET SOURCES.

  6. STUDENTS NEED TO PRESENT THEIR REAEARCH IN A POWER POINT PRESENTATION THAT MAY INCLUDE PICTURES, VIDEO CLIPS, AUDIO CLIPS, CHARTS, GRAPHS, OR EVEN MUSIC.

  7. STUDENTS WILL DO AN ORAL PRESENTATION, USING POWERPOINT AS A PRESENTATION TOOL TO ENHANCE THE ORAL PRESENTATION. THE PRESENTATION SHOULD BE AT LEAST TEN MINUTES IN LENGTH AND DEMONSTRATE A MASTERY OF THE TOPIC.

REMEMBER TO STAY FOCUSED ON THE TOPIC "THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF TERRORISM". ORGANIZATION (POWERPOINT) (1-10)THE POWER POINT OUTLINE COINCIDES WITH THE PAPER IN A MANNER THAT THE CONTENT OF YOUR RESEARCH PAPER IS INCLUDED AND ENHANCED BY VISUALS, STATISTICS, CHARTS, GRAPHS, SOUND,OR PICTURES.
MASTERY (POWERPOINT) (1-10)THE STUDENT WILL DO A 10 MINUTE PRESENTATION (OR LONGERTHAN 10 MINUTES)THAT DEMONSTRATES A KNOWLEDGE OF THE SUBJECT AND A MASTERY OF THE CONTENT.
CREATIVITY (OVERALL) (1-10) THE PAPER IS THE STUDENTS' OWN WORK, AND THE POWER POINT HAS A NICE FLOW AND ORGANIZES THE RESEARCH MATERIAL INTO AN ATTRACTIVE CONTENT BASED PRESENTATION.
