This has been an exciting year for the Ripley Union Lewis Huntington School District.  Our school was awarded a 5 year grant entitled CORE Community Opportunities (in) Reading Excellence.  This grant allows our students to extend their learning day at one of our local libraries by participating in exciting new programs!

 

 

 

There are a variety of class offerings at the Ripley Union Township Library.  This site is open from 3:00-6:00 and is manned by the certified teaching staff of the RULH School District. 

Classes available on Mondays:

 Math assistance for grades 6-12  taught by High School Math instructor Deanna McClain

Environmental Science lessons and hands-on experiments with High School Science instructors Lynae Cameron and Kristine Brookover. 

 

Classes available on Tuesdays and Thursdays:

Math and Language Arts assistance taught by Elementary instructor Julie Kirschner and High School Math instructor Dan Oliver

 

Classes available on Wednesdays:

Tutoring and Homework Help in all subjects taught by High School Intervention Specialist Mindi Wilson

Practical Math Skills and Public Speaking taught by High School Ag. Instructor Doug Bahnsen

Class available on Mondays:

The Science of Crime-Solving!  Students will take a thrilling look in the science behind solving crimes.  Class participants will learn to analyze fingerprints and blood typing, and how to collect trace evidence and much more!  Students will become members of CSI teams.  This fun filled class will meet on Monday's from 3:30-5:30.  This class will be taught by Middle School instructors Matt and Tara Lawson.

 

Classes available on Mondays and Wednesdays:

Nutrition and Physical Fitness with emphasis on reading, math and service learning.

 

Classes available on Tuesdays and Thursdays:

Youth Development/Character Education class taught by Middle School instructor Patricia Skaggs

 

 

There is a free snack offered and free transportation to designated sites.
